Tribute To Todd Folk |
|
Written by
Marty Clayton Banfield
When
I think of my nephew Todd Folk, I always remember the smile he
had on his face for everyone. He always had a hug
for me too! Todd was special. How so? Todd
thought very deeply about things, more so than most young
people his age.
For instance, he had the "artist's" blood in him
already. I remember seeing the wooden cross that he
himself had built out of wood, which he had painted. He
had then gone out into the woods and found something
similar to an old grapevine, and made a crown of thorns, which
sat atop the cross and hung down over it. This showed
Todd's love of the Lord.
Todd was truly an artist, and
this was his "art." Also, being an auto
mechanic, he had taken old car nuts and bolts and had
welded them together into a sculpture.
Todd is
gone from this earth, but not forgotten. I know that he
is resting in the arms of Jesus, and that we will all get to
meet again someday.

Meet Pansy Clayton

Pansy Clayton, Ehrhardt,
SC, a well-known and highly
accomplished artist of the SC Lowcountry, is famous
for her "heartfelt" renditions of "old houses" & her lifelike
realistic oil portraits of celebrites & common folks
alike. She has painted everyone from Hank Williams, Jr.,
to many known & unknown
southern legends. Her portraits are extremely lifelike, but
are still uniquely the artist's own expression.
Pansy loves to paint historical scenes of days gone by....of a time
when days were simpler, and home and family were the center of
people's lives. Her art gallery near Ehrhardt, SC, is
listed as a stop on the Heritage Corridor, by appointment
only.
Pansy
also continues to donate her creativity & talent to
the Ehrhardt, SC Community, as the new Ehrhardt News
Columnist, which has been a longtime tradition for over
40 years, (formerly by Angelia Breland) being published in the
Advertiser-Herald Newspaper of Bamberg,
SC.
You can reach Pansy at

Pansy's sons
(from left to right) Scott Wyman Folk, Dustin Ashley Folk,
& Todd Folk
Cecil Todd Folk, (born March 3, 1972) was
killed in an automobile accident (in the '57 Chevy)
on May 17, 1989. He was seventeen years old and in the
tenth grade at Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School. Todd was well
loved by his teachers and friends. Todd held a full time job
in well drilling with Hagood Allen, Jr.
Todd was
a good natured boy with a smile for everyone. Walter Mizelle's
auto mechanics was his favorite class in school. He loved old cars,
old music, and old trucks. Todd will be fondly remembered by
those who knew him, greatly missed by his friends and family and
always loved by his mother, father, and brothers.
Dustin, the
little boy in the middle is now a grown man, and has a son who is
named "Todd" in memory of his brother. Todd we love
you and miss you very
much.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
Everyday it is becoming more and
more evident that the evils of the world are being promoted by the
mass media, in radio, tv, satelllite, and in magazines, books, and
many other publications. The Bible predicted that this would
happen in the last days before Jesus Christ returns to
earth.
Our Oline Christian magazine is proud to
be a part of GOD'S MEDIA ARMY,
who will help to spread the gospel of Jesus
Christ through the printed word. Our base of operations is in
the SC Lowcountry, Bamberg, SC, but we know that this magazine
will be a shining light, not just to the S.C. Lowcountry, but to all
of SC and far beyond. Through us the LIGHT of Jesus
Christ will be shed abroad in the hearts of all of our readers
across the US and in other countries. Let us never forget that
Jesus is the TRUE LIGHT of the world, so don't be afraid to let your
light shine!
John 8:12: "I am the
light of the world; he that followeth me...shall
have the light of life."
Matthew 5:16: "In
the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see
your good deeds and praise your Father in
heaven."

Pansy's
rendition of an old time cowboy. Notice the old house in
the background as well. Pansy excells in painting old
home places & old houses. They are reminders of our
history and the many pioneering families who settled this
area, and old times that have been almost
forgotten. Pansy is helping to keep history
alive through her many paintings of the old times, and the old
days.

Betty Jane Miller works to preserve history through
writing and editing and publishing. We each must give of
our time and talent to help preserve the things that we
consider good, so that the following generations will
know their own history.
