Writer Jerry Durgan

Bio – Jerry Durgan

Born in Cushing Ok in 1931 to Villa and Lee Durgan, and raised in Menard, Texas. Educated at Menard High School and Sul Ross State University, Alpine, Texas with a Master of Arts in English, Mathematics, and Industrial Education.

Married to Carol Ann Kilgus. Two children, Kelly and Kevin (now deceased). One brother, Jack, and a sister, Joanna.

High School teacher, 30 years with USDOL Job Corps, with several years of teaching and consulting in Malaysia, Mexico, Samoa, Honolulu and Tahiti.

Four years in the U.S. Air Force, honorably discharged in 1955 as a Staff Sergeant, with service in Tunisia and Tripoli, Libya.

For the past ten years have been a staff writer for The Advertizer-Herald newspaper in Bamberg, SC.
